Good Stuff! I just cleaned my tub and toilet with the baking soda, didn' know about the soap and essential oil, I'll have to try that next time..thanks for the tip!
I'm sure you can do it without too. I think the soaps & EO's are just something people add. A lot of cleaning recipes are like that. You don't really need it but you can still use it. It's like the difference between nuts in your brownies or leaving them out.
