My Favorite of the Songs

Okay, so Raoul's a punk.
Let's just pretend he isn't for the sake of the song.

For a certain Opera fan out there. ^_~

Do not get me started on how horrible that movie is! First off, I will give it total credit for cinematography. And the managers and Carlotta were amazing.

Each time I watch it, I get a little less upset, but OMG it makes me mad when they speak lines that are supposed to be sung. It's ridiculous and insulting. I'm still dealing with the fact that the dude cast as Phantom can't sing. There are some notes that are absolutely painful. I don't know why they didn't get Michael Crawford or someone else who actually does the musical for the movie. I understand that Sarah Brightman is too old to play Christine, but the phantom is supposed to be older.

I loved the movie. I don't see what was so bad about it in the first place but yeah, some notes were a bit... off.

You get used to whole speaking lines thing, it's all in interpretation. Just like watching Shakespeare without accents.

That's a really good point. I'll have to tell myself that from now on when I watch the movie. I still don't agree. It was ALW's musical. But if I wasn't such a freak I probably wouldn't have noticed. And I think with the dude that played phantom, I had such high expectations. Still. What's her face was good as Christine though. No Sarah Brightman, but the music was written specifically for Sarah's voice, so no one else will ever be able to sing it quite the same.

Thanks for humoring my ramblings! I'm surprised you haven't gotten more freaks like me posting here. There's a lot of us around. But I guess most of grow up once we're money saving mommies. Not me. I refuse to grow up. LOL
