For The Other Single Mothers

We may be single but we are not alone.

Today I will be thankful for all I have been given-

for the sticky fingers and peanut butter faces,

the quiet breath of a sleeping baby,

the dirty diapers and shared potty training success,

the extra set of dishes to clean,

the crumbs on the floor to vacuum,

the head nuzzling my shoulder at a stranger's smile,

the hands reaching up to be held,

the smiles and giggles meant only for me.

Thank you for doing and being all that you are.

I pray you enjoy this day and remember,
